pop up. Corning New York is a small town located in the Finger Lakes Region of Central New York. The down-town Gaffer District has many local glass studios, antiques, specialty shops restaurants and museums. The Rockwell Museum features famous western artists. The Corning Museum of Glass is the largest glass museum in the world covering glass and glass making from ancient Egypt to the contemporary and science. The Rakow Research Library is the world’s foremost library on the art and history of glass and glass making. You will want to spend extra time in the Corning area.

Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen’s stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails overlook the gorge. Campers and day-visitors can enjoy the Olympic-size pool, scheduled summer tours through the gorge, tent and trailer campsites, picnic facilities and excellent fishing in nearby Seneca Lake or Catherine Creek, which is renowned for its annual spring run of rainbow trout.

In 2015, the park was chosen from more than 6,000 state parks across the nation as a nominee in the USA TODAY Readers’ Choice Poll for Best State Park in the United States, and won third place!

The National Soaring Museum is an aviation museum working to preserve the history of motor-less flight. We are open 10-5, 7 days a week March through December; closed Monday and Tuesday in January and February with hours 10-4 Wednesday through Sunday.The National Soaring Museum preserves and presents the heritage of motor-less flight, and promotes through education, a greater knowledge of soaring, aeronautics, and related physical sciences for                                             everyone.
