Registration process for a seat in the Allan Brown
Historically this is very popular and requires a substantial skill level to participate. Limited to 16 participants. Due to the amount of material to be covered, you are expected to be very familiar with both bench and lathe work. If you are relatively new to the field, consider applying for the Joseph S. Gregar Junior Seminar instead. It’s junior only in that the skill level requirement to participate is less. The instructor are experts in the field, and there’s a bit more one-on-one teaching available. As a benefit of ASGS regular membership, seats are available to regular members only for the first 45 days of registration.
This year, because of the virtual nature of the symposium everyone who is interested can “sit in” on the Allan Brown Seminar.
This year's curriculum is:
A scientific glass object of substantial complexity built start to finish by the highest skill level scientific glassblowers
who will be on the call to answer your questions after the project is complete.
